Introduction:

These instruction will show you how to copy important files and information from your FirstClass e-mail account to a local computer

Step 1:
I'll begin this process by logging into my FirstClass account and opening my Mailbox.

Step 2:
Inside my Mailbox, I locate the folder with my assignments in it - "BIM12 Assignments".  These are the assignments I want to save.

Step 3:
I open the "BIM12 Assignments" folder.

Inside the folder are a list of messages.  Attached to each message is a corrected assignment from my teacher that I want to save.

Step 4:
Next, I highlight all the messages I want to save.

Then I will click on the "File" menu, and choose the "Export" option.

Step 5:
The Export window appears.  I am asked where on my local computer I want to save my messages. For this demonstration, I'll save them on my desktop.

Step 6:
To keep all my assignments together in one place on my computer's desktop, need to make a new folder.  To do that, I'll click on the "New Folder" button at the bottom left corner of the screen.

The  "New Folder" window appears.  I type in the name of the new folder, "FirstClass Saved". and click on the "Create" button.  The folder is created.

Step 9:
Notice that each message on FirstClass now has it's own folder inside "FirstClass Saved".  Inside each folder is a copy of each message plus the attached file if there was one.
