Canadian Space Agency 2006-2007 vClass Presentations

More exciting presentations are planned for the 2007-2008 school year.

 

On May 4th Col. Chris Hadfield presented live from Chilliwack to about 1000 grade 6 and 7 students at G.W.Graham Middle School. His presentation was broadcast live over the Internet using our vClass Elluminate Live virtual classroom to about 200 people. Col. Hadfield is the first Canadian to walk in space and was the top pilot in the USAF test pilot school. His spacewalk to install Canadarm2 on the International Space Station (2006) has been commemorated on Royal Canadian Mint silver and gold coins.

How to Explore Mars (Elementary Presentations)

The How to Explore Mars CSA presentation was on April 27th.

Moving Payloads in Space

This presentation was on April 25th. from 10:00 - 11:30. The presentation discussed the challenges involved in moving large objects in space. Althought there is no gravity, other challenges do exist, and this presentation examined the potential problems. Students carried out experiments at home during the presentation to demonstrate the challenges of moving payloads in space.
